A Repipe can vary in cost depending on many different factors such as:
- Size of home
- Foundation type
- 1, 2, or 3 stories
- Materials used
- Options added
But If you own an average home in the San Jose bay area that needs to be repiped, here are some base costs to give you an idea of what your budget should look like:
- 3bed 2ba 1500sq/ft or less. Crawl Space. Single Story Copper Repipe. Base Price, no options added.
- $11,995 (crawl space foundation)
- $13,995 (slab foundation)
- 4bed 2ba 2000sq/ft or less. Crawl Space. Single Story. Copper Repipe. Base Price, no options added.
- $13,995 (crawl space foundation)
- $15,995 (slab foundation)
- 4bed 2ba 2300 sq/ft or less. Crawl Space. Two Story. Copper Repipe. Base Price no options added.
- $14,995 (crawl space foundation)
- $17,995 (slab foundation)
Now this price can go up or down depending on adding options and services such as (permit service, main water line replacement, sheetrock repair services, water heater installation, water softeners, electric smart water valves etc)
Now that we’ve shared some price information with you, we are happy to also break down the cost of these jobs for you as well: see below for a cost break down:
- Average Material cost per job: 30%
- Average Labor cost per job: 40%
- Company Overhead: 10%
- Profit: 20%
We share these figures with you so that you can be an informed buyer of repipe services and so that we can be honest and upfront about our pricing and costs. We believe knowing upfront so you can compare our services to any other service provider in the area.
BUT WHAT IF I HAVE A LOWER BID FROM ANOTHER CONTRACTOR…?
Contractors who provide a low bid are usually getting to that number by skimping out on proper/high quality materials for the job, not properly staffing the job with adequate labor and training, not carrying proper insurance and/or don’t have fully staffed company to take your calls and handle administrative tasks before, during and after your repipe. Being that your home is one of your largest investments working with a lower bidding contractor presents a huge risk as they usually won’t tell you which one of these they are cutting corners on, and you as the homeowner will tend to find out the hard way.
